Lemon Grass

Cymbopogon Citratus

Used to enhance flavour in cooking, Lemon Grass is a great plant (or grass) to have around the home both to use in food aswell as for the fragrant smell in the garden which also helps to deter mosquitos!  

Light Requirements

Full sun/ Part shade

Soil Conditions

Pretty tolerant to soil conditions, but well draining is best

Water Requirements

Although lemongrass can tolerate a drought once established, for best results water regularly

Full Size

Up to a metre tall, can spread wide fast, so I find it best kept in pots

Temperature

Will grow almost anywhere in Australia as long as it's sheltered from frost
