Malabar Chestnut

Pachira Glabra

Also known as Guyana Chestnut, Saba Nut, Munguba, the Malabar Chestnut is a fast growing, evergreen tree that gets a wide trunk at the base as it ages. It produces bushy, cream flowers and produces pods with the 'chestnut' inside which are edible, nutritious and can be eaten raw or cooked.
