Purple Oxalis

Oxalis triangular

Also known as Purple or false Shamrock, The Purple Oxalis makes a great house or patio plant with dainty, lovely deep purple coloured leaves and light purple bunches of flowers. The leaves look like butterflies or 3 heart shapes joined at the Botton corner. 

Light Requirements

Not too fussy, can handle full sun to filtered light

Soil Conditions

Rich, Well draining soil

Water Requirements

Water regularly for best results, allowing the soil to dry between watering

Full Size

Up to 50cm Tall, can spread fast so keep in a planter if that's not what you want too much of in the garden

Temperature

The Oxalis may die back in cold and frosty, or hot and dry temperatures but most of the time will regrow from tiny bulbs in the soil

The Purple Oxalis is apt of a delicate plant, so it may be wilted and sad looking when you receive it in the mail. However give it a nice shady spot to start with and some water and it will shoot new growth in no time!
