Variegated Vanilla Planifolia Orchid
The Vanilla Orchid can be grown in the home with the right care and conditions, it can produce Vanilla Beans for you! But even if it is not quite the right conditions, the Vanilla Orchid is a beautiful specimen to add to or start your collection.
Light Requirements
Part shade/ Part sun, can be grown indoors in Southern parts of Australia, aerial roots of the Orchid need humidity or to be sprayed with water regularly to replicate humidity.
Soil Conditions
Well draining soil, a mixture of tree bark/ wood chips with peat moss and sand is ideal, the Vanilla Orchid has aerial roots which like to attach to trees or a support pole. The Vanilla Orchid does not like having soggy roots.
Water Requirements
regularly, but make sure it is drying out before watering again.

Can grow up to 90 metres!
Temperature
The vanilla Orchid is found in humid, tropical regions but it can tolerate colder weather if kept indoors with right amount of love and care.
